Principal Message
Welcome to Government Model Degree College Devidhura, Champawat. This institution was established in 2014 as a government degree college under the administration of the Government of Uttarakhand, with the primary purpose of providing higher education opportunities to the youth of Devidhura and the surrounding regions. Initially affiliated with Kumaun University, Nainital, the college transitioned to Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora in 2020.
Government Model Degree College Devidhura is accredited by the University Grants Commission under Section 2 [F] of the UGC Act 1956. In 2015, the Uttarakhand State Government made a significant decision to designate this college as the first Model College in Uttarakhand, with the goal of enhancing the quality of higher education. The college boasts a dedicated and highly qualified faculty across all departments, committed to providing a high standard of education that aligns with the needs and aspirations of students and various stakeholders.
The college has experienced a substantial increase in student admissions since its inception, reflecting the strong demand for its programs. It offers undergraduate courses in the fields of arts and science.
Creating an environment conducive to the intellectual development of our students is a shared responsibility of both faculty and students. Our collective aim is to nurture intellectually sound and innovative individuals while fostering values such as democracy, national integration, communal harmony, and social equality. This is achieved through the promotion of scientific thinking among our students.
A variety of extracurricular and extension activities, including NSS (National Service Scheme) and the Rovers/Rangers program, serve as platforms for instilling these values among our students. Let us come together to encourage rational thinking and the development of a scientific mindset. By adopting a scientific approach, we can pave the way for a journey toward knowledge and enlightenment, nurturing a scientific and rational temperament in our students.
